The journey of this association began in 2005 when 51 numbers HCH-management graduate during their apprenticeship as Assistant Superintendent posted at different health facilities unitedly formed a joint platform to combat their appointment related legal battle field at West Bengal State Administrative Tribunal (WBSAT) WP no OA 53 of 2005. This platform later gave birth to a officers association namely Association of Health Service Administrators by way of formal registration of memorandum of Association as per WB societies registration act 1961 in 17/11/2008. Later the association also appointed professional service lawyer of repute for different litigations at SAT and successfully overcome the hurdles.

The journey never stopped and this active interest group felt the need to remain united to promote the professional management subject as a prime focus of their career goal. constant persuasion and negotiation with their parent department, finance department ultimately gave birth to a health care professional management cadre in 2007 first time in the history of GoWB. Later leading B-school graduates from TISS, Perless Hospital, NSHM, IISWBM etc were inducted in the main steam of government of WB Gr-A officers service through WB Public Service Commission in 2011 & through West Bengal Health Recruitment Board in 2018, 2021 & 2023.

AHSA is a non profit association of Hospital Administrators / Managers (Assistant Superintendent / Deputy Superintendent) working in different health facilities with member strength 350+ . The objective is to promote this particular area of specilaisation amongst the vast segment of government machinery for common people.
